Welcome to the Southwark Book Award 2018

This year’s winner:

Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson

A huge thank you to all the students involved in this year’s Award who read the shortlisted titles, voted for them and participated in the Award ceremony at Canada Water Library on March 15.

We were delighted to welcome Matt Dickinson, Sarah Driver, Lisa Thompson, Joshua Khan and Elizabeth Laird to the ceremony.

Jessica’s Ghost by Andrew Norriss

“With its moving story, and intricate characters, it’s almost impossible to put down! I would love to ask the author where the idea came to them, and how it came to life.”

“a very powerful, beautifully written book. Definitely one I would recommend, and definitely a 10/10 book.”

“I think this book deserves a 10 because it shows us how to talk to others when we have problems -this helps more than keeping it to yourself.”

“Jessica’s Ghost is a beautifully written story with a deep meaning to it. It was a real page turner and an easy read.”

“an amazing book by the brilliant Andrew Norriss!”
